zztopJeff Beck and ZZ Top will hit the road together for a five-week run this summer with a stop at Jones Beach on Sept 4…The shows will not only comprise full sets from both acts, but close with a collaboration each night.

The two rock staples have admired each other’s work for years. In 2009, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons and Beck joined forces at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony to play Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxy Lady” and ZZ Top’s “Rough Boy.” The following year, Beck joined the band on stage for an extended version of “La Grange” during the band’s show in Lucca, Italy. This trek, however, marks the first time the groups have toured together…
Beck and ZZ Top both have dates scheduled for this summer – the former will hit Asia, Australia and Europe; the latter will be in Europe – before their tour together begins. Beck is also hoping to finish up his new studio album, his first LP since 2010, by the time his world tour kicks off April 7th in Tokyo.

“I think I’ve drawn attention,” Beck said of the importance of his new album in a recent chat with Rolling Stone. “I’ve worked, worked, worked for the last three years. Now is the time really. My birthday is coming up, if you get me . I thought it was time for a really, really good studio album I had control over and time to do properly instead of a budget problem. Even though I do have budget problems!”
